FLIGHT ARRIVAL / DEPARTURE INFORMATION *

SPAIN / FRANCE / england/ ITALY / CHINA

Most airlines arrange for overnight flights to Spain, France, England, Italy or China. Students need to depart the U.S. on the official departure date of the LPI program and arrive in the host country the following day.

Arrival Time: Before 2:00pm

Departure Time: On the official program return date groups will travel to the airport for departures before 12:00 noon.

Arrival and Departure Airport: (airport code CDG) Charles de Gaulle International Airport, Paris, France

Arrival Time: Before 2:00 PM

Departure Time: On the official program return date, groups will travel to the airport on an overnight bus/train for early morning departures before 12:00 noon.

Departure Time: On the official program return date groups will travel to the airport for early morning departures before 12:00 noon.

Arrival and Departure Airport: (airport code PVG) Shanghai Pudong International Airport

Arrival Time: Between 2:00pm and 8:00pm

Departure Time: Students need to depart the US on the official departure date of the program between 10:00am and 10:00pm.

COSTA RICA / PERU

For these destinations, students will be arriving on the same day as their U.S. departure date.
 

Arrival and Departure Airport: (airport code SJO) San José Juan Santa Maria International Airport, San José, Costa Rica

Arrival Time: Between 8:00 am and 6:30 pm on the departure date of the program for all summer programs.

Departure Time: On the official program return date groups will travel to the airport for early morning and depart before 12:00 noon.

Arrival and Departure Airport: (airport code LIM) Jorge Chávez International Airport, Lima, Peru

Arrival Time: Between 9:00am and 11:59pm on the departure date of the program for all summer and Global Impact programs. LPI organizes the connecting flight to Cusco.

Departure Time: On the official program return date groups will travel to the Cusco airport for early morning departures to LIM airport. Students need to arrange for return flights out of LIM after 7:00pm on the return date.

* Students who do not arrive during the designated pick-up times will be responsible for getting themselves to the hotel (hotel directions and additional information will be provided prior to program departure) or to the city of destination, depending upon the date of arrival. Special pick-up arrangements may be made for an additional charge. If a student will not be returning home after the official program return date, LPI requires written parental permission clearly stating the date and location where the student will be picked up as well as the full name and relation of the person who will be meeting the student.

PARENT VISITS

LPI programs are designed to offer students a variety of activities and excursions while abroad. Although students are given ample free time, they are required to attend all classes, activities and excursions. LPI Directors work hard to create a healthy group dynamic among students and provide opportunities for language use and cultural experiences. In order to maintain this group dynamic and insist that students abide by the program guidelines, LPI requests that parents do not visit students during the official program dates. If parents do visit during the program dates, LPI kindly requests that parents contact the LPI Directors and inform them of their intentions. If the parents. plan affects the student's ability to comply with the program's established itinerary, LPI requires written notification assuming total responsibility for any incident that may occur during that time.

If parents want to visit their students, they are strongly encouraged to visit before or after the official LPI program dates. If a student will be traveling with his/her parents prior to the official program departure date they should notify LPI and arrange for the student to meet the group on the day of arrival. If a student will be traveling with his/her parents after the official program return date, LPI requires written parental permission clearly stating the date and location where the student will be picked up as well as the full name and relation of the person who will be meeting the student.
