In order to thank teachers who support LPI by referring their students to our programs, LPI offers the Teacher Benefits Program. This program offers teachers a variety of benefits including the opportunity to travel abroad to an LPI program destination.

TEACHER TRAVEL

In order to earn a free trip and experience an LPI program first-hand, teachers must earn sufficient points by referring students to LPI. The referral points earned for each student are determined by the program selected. Teachers may apply the points earned towards reward travel to any LPI program destination they choose provided they have earned sufficient points.

REWARD TRAVEL & BENEFITS

What's Included

All reward travel includes airfare, hotel accommodations and ground transportation during organized excursions and room & board with an LPI host family. Teachers are not required to stay the entire length of the program, and may feel free to travel on their own during the program dates.

Other Benefits

Teachers that choose not to travel or who do not meet the minimum number of referral points to earn reward travel can choose a monetary reward in the following quantities. Teachers may donate the money to future LPI students in the form of scholarships, purchase necessary classroom materials or use the reward as they see fit.

NOTE points are awarded only after the students have been accepted and paid in full. Referral points are only valid for the summer following the current academic year.

Referrals & Eligibility

In order to be eligible to receive the benefits, teachers must remind their students to complete the "HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT LPI?" section of the LPI student application. Students should check the box next to "TEACHER OR ADVISOR" and write the teacher's name in the blank space provided. If no name is listed, no credit can be awarded. Teachers may also choose to complete this section of the application before handing out the LPI catalog to their students. A final count of referral points will be made after the final payment deadline. Teachers eligible for referral travel will be notified as soon as their students have paid in full in order to make travel arrangements. Teachers should feel free to contact the LPI office at any time during the year to check their referral points status.

NOTE

Teacher Recommendation Forms completed on behalf of an LPI participant are not considered as referrals.
